The upgraded version of the Mason Bee House includes additional features and improvements to provide an even better habitat for mason bees.
Emergence Chamber: This upgraded bee house comes with an emergence chamber, which is designed to hold purchased or harvested cocoons from your blocks and tubes in the early spring. This chamber provides a safe and protected space for the bees to emerge from their cocoons and start their pollination work.
Design: The bee house has a chalet-style roof and two six-cell observation windows, as well as built-in six cleanable cells and blocks containing nine cells. These features provide ample space for the bees to lay their eggs and create nests.
Nesting Tubes and Blocks: The bee house includes easy-to-use 6-inch cardboard nesting tubes and blocks with phragmites reed nesting tubes that have a diameter of 5/16". These tubes and blocks provide a suitable habitat for mason bees to lay their eggs and create nests. Material: The upgraded bee house is made from 100% Pacific Red Cedar sourced from Urban Cedar*, recycled cedar, and sustainably sourced cedar. The rough cut and minimally processed cedar not only provide an authentic natural look but also maximize energy savings.
Hanging Option: The bee house comes with a wall bracket that allows you to hang it if desired. Placing it in a sheltered location away from rain, strong winds, and pests will help protect the bees and their nests.
Dimensions and Weight: The approximate dimensions of the upgraded bee house are as follows: Length: 7 ½" (190mm), Width: 7" (178mm), Height: 10" (254mm). The weight of the bee house is approximately 5lb.
Overall, the upgraded version of the Mason Bee House provides an improved habitat for mason bees, promoting their well-being and supporting their essential pollination role.
